Helen is an Associate in the Employment Team and advises employers on all aspects of the employment relationship (contentious and non-contentious). She provides practical and commercial advice to clients on day-to-day employment matters (including disciplinaries, dismissals and grievances, reorganisations and redundancies (including collective consultation requirements) and sickness absence) and is a keen advocate in Employment Tribunal litigation. She also advises on executive terminations, Compromise Agreements and Consultancy Agreements.
Helen has particular interest and expertise in TUPE and regularly provides practical and strategic advice on the commercial and legal implications of TUPE on business acquisitions and sales and the outsourcing of contracts.
Helen regularly provides bespoke in-house training, seminars and interactive workshops to clients on the full spectrum of employment law and writes articles for the team’s monthly email shot and client newsletters.
Helen is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the Association of Women Solicitors (Manchester Branch).
Helen is a keen supporter of local cancer charities (both in the Chester/North Wales area and her birth town of Belfast, Northern Ireland). Helen also supports Claire House Children’s Hospice in her capacity as a Cheshire Witch (Women In Touch with Claire House).
When Helen is not helping her clients with their employment law issues, she enjoys good food, good wine and spending time with her husband and young daughter.
