In some cases one party may be worried that their spouse or civil partner is being dishonest about their financial position and will try to hide or dispose of assets so that the court is unaware of them and so they cannot make a claim against them.
If such concern can be proved to the court, we can make an application, very quickly, for emergency financial orders, such as an injunction to prevent the disposal or dealing with any property or asset, including bank accounts.
If we believe it is necessary to protect your financial position in this way, it is essential not to delay making the application. To avoid giving the other party advanced warning we may have to make the application without their knowledge.
