Registration

The Wills Tax and Trusts Team works for a number of individuals and organisations who are involved in charitable activities.  The team helps with all aspects of setting up a charity, including advising on and preparing governing documents, applying for registration at the Charity Commission, dealing with compliance issues such as the “public benefit” test and advising on associated tax issues.  The team has worked with new charitable organisations, existing groups and individuals who wish to focus their own philanthropic giving by setting up a charitable trust.

Once a charity is up and running, the team can assist with the ongoing administration and compliance requirements and offers a range of services from providing advice on an occasional basis to acting as the main administrative arm of the charity.  The team also deals with requests for funding on behalf of grant-making charities.

Finally, a number of partners at Aaron and Partners LLP act as trustees both in a professional and voluntary capacity, and this experience of the charitable sector is invaluable in providing relevant advice to our clients.
