Compliance Systems

The Traffic Commissioners demand a very high standard of compliance from commercial vehicle operators, often referring to “industry best practice standards” which can go beyond the legislative requirements.

These industry best practice standards often evolve from the decisions made by Traffic Commissioners at Public Inquiries (PI) and related appeals.  To discover what these standards are at a PI can be too late to avoid regulatory action being taken.

Prevention is better than cure and certainly exposes licence holders to fewer risks of regulatory action.  As members of the team regularly appear before the Traffic Commissioners at PI we are well aware of the standards expected which evolve and develop as the decisions are made.  We can put this knowledge to good use for clients when we carry out a compliance systems review when we can identify areas for improvement and advise on cost efficient ways of achieving these standards.
