Lynda Richards

Described as going ‘above and beyond’ for her clients, Lynda is a Partner and leads the Wills, Trusts & Tax team in our Shrewsbury office. 

Background and Expertise 

Having qualified in 2003 at a leading firm in the South East, she has since worked at a number of prominent city firms before joining Aaron & Partners as an Associate in 2014.  Lynda is now a Partner within the firm’s Wills, Trusts, & Tax team. Her primary focus lies in advising high net worth private clients and trustees on all matters relating to tax, trusts, estates, and succession planning. 

Specialisations & Personal Achievements  

Lynda possesses a particular passion for assisting business owners, landowners, and high net-worth individuals in organising their estates to minimize exposure to inheritance tax. Her expertise also extends to the creation and administration of charitable trusts. Beyond her legal career, Lynda's love for equestrian activities enables her to advise on non-contentious equine-related matters, such as loan and livery agreements. 

Her prior experience has equipped her with the skills required to handle complex cases involving Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney with great efficiency and precision. Through her commercial and objective insights, and genuine empathy, Lynda ensures her clients receive high-quality advice tailored to their unique circumstances. 

Lynda is also an esteemed member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and she actively contributes to the legal community as a member of the Birmingham branch of the STEP committee. 

Outside of the office, Lynda is a keen tennis player and represents Shropshire at county level.  

Recent Work Examples 

• Assisted a beneficiary in an Estate where the Will had been lost and a Deed of Variation needed to be entered into.  The Estate assets were complex and consisted of a farm, offshore assets and  commercial premises.  

• Successfully set up a charitable trust into which a well-known local landmark was transferred. 
• Successfully reorganised a high net worth client’s estate who had a complex family situation to reduce their exposure to Inheritance Tax.
