Aaron & Partners named leading law firm in industry bible

30th September, 2013

Aaron & Partners LLP has been recognised as Cheshire’s leading law firm for a fourth consecutive year in an industry-defining guide.

The newly released North West Legal 500 2013, an annually published series providing independent rankings of law firms in more than 100 countries, is widely recognised as the most respected guide to the legal industry.

In the North West edition, Aaron & Partners was awarded more than twice as many plaudits than any of its Chester rivals, receiving recommendations for 17 of its legal departments. This includes recognition of Aaron & Partners as an elite top-tier firm with acknowledgement of its corporate and commercial, commercial litigation and agriculture and estates practices.

The North West Legal 500 also recommends 17 of Aaron & Partners’ lawyers, while its strong presence in North Wales is reflected by recommendations for 11 of its departments and nine lawyers in the publication’s Welsh edition.

Andy Duxbury, Chief Executive Officer of Aaron & Partners, said: “Our strong performance in the Legal 500 2013 demonstrates the outstanding practice Aaron & Partners prides itself on.

“To show improved recommendations for both our teams and our lawyers for a fourth consecutive year is an incredible endorsement of the work we do for clients across Cheshire, the North West and beyond.”

The guide’s 17 recommendations are an improvement on the 16 made in the Legal 500 2012, and also reflect the sustained growth at Aaron & Partners, which this year recorded a rise in annual fees by more than £1m over 12 months.

Senior lawyers singled out for particular praise include Clive Pointon, head of Wills, Trusts & Tax, head of Charity Law Simon Ellis and Family Law expert Richard Barge, who was recently named Aaron & Partners’ tenth equity partner.

Andy Duxbury said: “We are particularly pleased to see so many of our lawyers recognised for their talent across a broad range of disciplines, which illustrates the depth of knowledge and expertise at Aaron & Partners.”

The firm’s commitment to growth included the acquisition of niche employment firm Bennett’s Legal of Shrewsbury in May. This year has also seen Aaron & Partners become the first commercial law practice in Cheshire to achieve alternative business structure (ABS) status, one of the most significant developments in the history of the legal sector.

Aaron & Partners employs 106 people in total, and its improved listing in the Legal 500 follows top reviews in the prestigious Chambers UK 2013 rankings.
