About the Role

We are looking for a solicitor to join the Corporate & Commercial (Co/Co) team in either our Chester or Shrewsbury office. You will be qualified to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales with between 1 to 3 years PQE of Co/Co work and a commendation or distinction in your LPC. You will have a second class or higher degree from ideally a Russell Group or equivalent standard University.

You will have the ability and willingness to do corporate/finance work and commercial contracts work.

You should have experience in at least three of the following:

  • Taken lead role on at least one corporate acquisition or disposal transaction (with a value of £500k or more)
  • Taken lead role on at least one banking transaction (acting for bank or borrower in relation to acquisition finance)
  • Taken lead role on at least one major commercial contract negotiation
  • Worked on corporate restructuring/reorganisations
  • Drafted and negotiated an international or cross border commercial contracts
  • Worked on venture capital/private equity investments
  • Trained and qualified at a commercial law firm in a major city

You will be a confident person with excellent communication skills who is at ease when dealing with clients; ensuring that each client receives an excellent level of service. You will also have a good level of commercial understanding and mathematical ability.

You will have the ability to manage your workload; handling a number of cases at any one time. You will also have an excellent eye for detail and the desire to get things right first time.

You will have a willingness and aptitude in getting involved in the team/firm’s marketing and business development activities and therefore possess excellent client facing skills.

You will have a full UK Driving licence and your own vehicle.

Hours of work & Benefits

This position is a full-time position working hours 9am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday at either our Chester or Shrewsbury offices.
