3rd October, 2018
147 Leadenhall Street
08:30 am - 10:30 am
Join the Recognising hidden disabilities at work: deafness and hearing loss event
Hosted by Shearman & Sterling and national charity Action on Hearing Loss (formerly RNID) this event will be a breakfast seminar to launch their new research around their Working for Change campaign.
Hugh Strickland, Corporate Finance Partner at Aaron & Partners will be guest speaking.
Employers are competing to attract and retain the best talent from diverse backgrounds, including candidates with disabilities. Although there are over five million people of working age with deafness and hearing loss (12 in 100 of your employees), research shows that over half of them hide their disability for fear of being judged.
This seminar will look at how we harness talent by recognising hearing loss at work and what action we can take to retain experienced members of staff and attract new employees with hearing loss.
Breakfast with tea and coffee will be served from 8:30 am with the event beginning at 8:55 am.
