Living in the UK but with Children Abroad
During the breakdown of a relationship it is often the children that are caught in the middle of any animosity between the parents. The stress of the breakdown of a relationship can be increased when one parent is unable to spend quality time with their children, especially when their children live aboard.
If you or your former partner is planning on moving away from the UK we can advise as to the relocation process and how the Court will determine whether the children should also move abroad. Our specialist family team can also offer advice with regards to ensuring that any Order made by the Court in England and Wales for the time the children spend with you is enforceable in the Country where they will be moving too.
Alternatively if you have moved to the UK and have an Order from another Country regarding the arrangements for the children we can advise as to the process to having that Order mirrored within the jurisdiction of England and Wales.
We can also advise in respect of the enforcement of Orders from other Countries for the payment of child maintenance and any application made through REMO (Reciprocal Enforcement of Maintenance Orders).
Some of the cases we have advised clients on where the children live abroad or are moving abroad include:
- Clients living in England in respect of REMO applications for maintenance Orders made in Australia and Canada.
- Client living in the UK but with children living in Poland.
- Client living in the UK regarding Mirror Orders for the child arrangements where the children lived in Dubai
