Biography
Jayne returned to Aaron and Partners in January 2022 as a Solicitor in the Employment Team having previously trained with the firm, including a seat in Employment. Jayne graduated from the University of Law with a First Class LLB and qualified as a solicitor in 2011. Prior to studying Law, Jayne obtained a degree in Chemistry with French and worked for a global information provider assisting major pharmaceutical and engineering companies with their R&D.
Regulatory
During her time away from Aaron and Partners, Jayne worked for a large commercial law firm in Manchester, where she predominantly advised clients in relation to regulatory matters.
She worked with clients across many different sectors and industries, including schools, healthcare providers, engineering, food and agriculture businesses. Jayne regularly acted for clients at Inquests including notably the Renewed Hillsborough Inquests and related investigations. Jayne also acted in inquests involving matters of national security and represented a variety of employers following workplace deaths and deaths within a care setting. Jayne also has extensive experience in advising in investigations brought by bodies such as the Health and Safety Executive and the Environment Agency, right the way through from initial enquiries immediately following an incident to a final Court hearing on prosecution.
Jayne has also acted in professional regulatory matters such as Fitness to Practise investigations and proceedings, including short notice Interim Orders Committee hearings.
Employment & Immigration
As a highly experienced solicitor, Jayne assists employers and employees with both contentious and non-contentious matters, including settlement agreements, grievances, dismissals, drafting contracts and handbooks and claims in the Employment Tribunal. She also advises on immigration matters, helping clients through the process of obtaining a Sponsor Licence to employ migrant workers and subsequent visa applications, often on the Skilled Worker route.
With experience across a number of work types and different businesses, Jayne is well positioned to assist with not only employee or workplace issues, but also with many additional challenges that employers might face.
