Background and Expertise

Amy qualified as a solicitor in 2009, after completing her studies at Reading University, with a year spent at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. She started her career at a Legal 500 firm in South East London, where she undertook her training.  

Subsequently, Amy worked in Kent for several years before returning to her roots in Shropshire in 2013. In Shropshire, she joined a local general practice and contributed her expertise until June 2022 when she became an Associate Solicitor at Aaron & Partners. 

Amy's focus lies in providing comprehensive advice to her high net worth clients, charities and trusts, across varied non-contentious wills, trusts and tax matters. 

 

Specialisations and Personal Achievements

Amy is primarily responsible for dealing with matters regarding succession planning. Her expertise includes Inheritance Tax advice, asset protection, and the preparation of essential legal documents such as Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) for Health & Care decisions and Property & Financial affairs. Amy is also adept at creating family trusts and offers guidance to Trustees on trust administration and compliance matters. 

Additionally, Amy is well-versed in handling non-contentious post-death estate administration. She assists clients with applications for Grant of Probate and executes post-death tax planning via Deeds of Variation. 

Amy prides herself on building strong, lasting relationships with her clients and collaborates closely with colleagues from different departments and other professional advisers, such as financial advisers, accountants, and wealth managers, to ensure her clients' goals are met. 

Known for her empathetic character and her ability to reassure clients during difficult and distressing circumstances, Amy’s advice is tailored to suit each client's unique situation, enabling the best possible outcome to be achieved with the minimum amount of stress. 

Amy is a full member of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and has completed the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates. She is also a member of the Law Society's Private Client Section and holds the distinction of being a Dementia Friend, reflecting her commitment to both her profession and the community.

 

Recent Work Examples

  • Acted for the Personal Representative of a high net worth individual, advising on the terms of a badly drawn homemade Will and dealing with the administration of business property and Spanish property.  
  • Dealt with the complexities of administering the estates of a married couple with agricultural property, who had died on the same day.  
  • Preparation of Will, business LPAs and personal LPAs for a client with a number of business interests and complex family circumstances.  
  • Assisted trustees with winding up of a life interest trust, upon the death of the income beneficiary, where there were many remainder beneficiaries, including charities.
