Ben Mason is a Partner in Aaron & Partners' Employment Law team and leads the firm's Employment practice in Shrewsbury. He is a trusted adviser to employers, business owners, boards, senior executives and HR leaders on complex and strategically important workplace issues.
Known for providing commercially focused and pragmatic advice, Ben helps clients navigate workplace challenges in a way that balances legal risk, commercial objectives and people considerations. He works closely with organisations of all sizes, from owner-managed businesses and SMEs to larger national and international employers, acting as a long-term strategic adviser on both day-to-day employment matters and business-critical projects. Ben advises clients across a broad range of sectors including manufacturing, technology, professional services, healthcare, retail, hospitality and sport.
Ben advises on the full spectrum of employment law and regularly supports clients with matter involving senior executive recruitment, appointments and exits, board-level employment law and HR strategy issues, and disciplinary, grievance and workplace investigation processes. He is highly experienced in Employment Tribunal litigation, including discrimination, whistleblowing and unfair dismissal claims, TUPE transfers and business acquisitions, and matters relating to business restructures, organisational change and redundancy programmes.
Ben has also worked with clients on matters involving restrictive covenants, employee competition and confidential information disputes, employment contracts, service agreements and workplace policies, settlement agreements and negotiated departures.
Ben also works closely with colleagues across the firm's Corporate and Commercial teams, advising on the employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions, business disposals, investments, corporate restructurings and other transactional matters where employment law issues are a key consideration.
In addition to his employer-side practice, Ben advises directors, senior executives and professionals on employment disputes, workplace investigations, negotiated exits and post-termination restrictions. This dual perspective provides valuable insight into the objectives, risks and strategies of both employers and employees, allowing him to deliver balanced and commercially effective advice.
Ben has particular experience supporting owner-managed businesses and growing companies, acting as a trusted adviser to leadership teams through periods of growth, change and transformation. Clients value his ability to distil complex legal issues into clear, practical advice that facilitates informed decision-making and helps them achieve their strategic objectives.

Through Aaron & Partners' membership of the International Advisory Group (IAG Global), Ben works closely with legal and professional advisers across multiple jurisdictions, assisting clients with cross-border employment law matters and international workforce projects. He regularly coordinates employment law advice for businesses operating internationally, supports overseas organisations with their UK employment law requirements and helps UK-based clients access trusted legal support around the world.
Alongside his mainstream employment law practice, Ben has a longstanding interest in sports law and has advised sporting organisations, governing bodies and professional athletes on a range of employment and contractual matters.
