The opportunity

As a Private Client Partner in our Wills, Trusts & Tax team in Shrewsbury, you will play a leading role in advising high-net-worth individuals and families on complex matters, while contributing to the continued growth and direction of a highly regarded team in the region.

You will be a technically excellent, experienced and commercially minded lawyer looking to combine high-quality client work with leadership, relationship development and long-term career progression within a collaborative and ambitious firm.

You will have an aptitude for mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to the ongoing growth and strategic development of the team in the Shrewsbury office, whilst grasping the opportunity to strengthen existing client relationships, develop new ones.

What you will be doing

You will advise on a broad range of complex private client matters, including:

  • Wills and estate planning for high-net-worth individuals
  • Inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning
  • Trust creation, structuring and ongoing management
  • Estate administration, including high-value and complex estates
  • Asset protection and wealth preservation strategies

In addition, you will:

  • Manage your own portfolio of high-value clients and matters
  • Supervise, mentor and support junior members of the team
  • Play a key role in maintaining and developing client and referrer relationships
  • Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the Shrewsbury office

About you

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded private client lawyer with strong technical expertise and leadership capability.

You will:

  • Have extensive experience in private client law
  • Demonstrate a strong track record advising high-net-worth clients
  • Be confident handling complex matters across wills, trusts, tax planning and estate administration
  • Have experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
  • Be commercially aware, with a proactive approach to business development
  • Be confident building and maintaining long-term client and referrer relationships
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and sound judgement
