International Commercial Agreements
When doing business abroad, you will inevitably need to enter into agreements with companies in another jurisdiction. These can range from framework agreements, supply agreements, purchase agreements, agency agreements, distribution agreements, manufacturing agreements licencing agreements, joint ventures and others.
On occasions you can negotiate UK law to apply (as appropriate ) and for the UK courts to have jurisdiction over these contracts but on many occasions you may need to accept a foreign law. Through our network we can assist in advising you on the implications of this and in the negotiation of these contracts.
In some circumstances you may need to produce a contract to which foreign law applies and again we can advise and assist in the drafting of these agreements.
Advice in these areas is not only about the paper but also about assisting in the strategy when embarking on business abroad such as the structure of your global distribution network or licensing network and we are here to help.
