Notarial Services Within the UK
If you are working in international trade or living abroad, you will inevitably have to deal with foreign authorities on a regular basis. In these cases, you may need to have official documents of your home country authenticated by a Notary Public confirm their authenticity for use internationally and then legalised by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) by means of an apostille. The FCO will usually only accept authentication by the seal of a Notary Public – a solicitor’s signature will not be accepted. Our team of notaries have experience of dealing with many different transactions and documents for both businesses and individuals, including:-
- buying or selling property abroad
- powers of attorney for use abroad
- applying to work abroad or register with a foreign professional body
- getting married abroad
- sponsoring a friend or relative to visit the UK
- adopting a child from a foreign country
- making a foreign will or administering a relative’s estate
- pursuing or defending foreign court proceedings
- attempting to obtain consents for children to travel abroad
- transactions for foreign contracts
