About Arian Thornton
Arian is as a Paralegal within the Wills, Trusts and Tax team with a particular focus on contentious trusts and probate.
She graduated from the University of Chester with a 2:1 in law and received a commendation in her Legal Practice Course (LPC) with masters. Arian is currently training to become a Fellow with the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
Arian has experience in dealing with a wide range of estate and trust disputes and deals with estate administrations with a complicated or disputed element. Examples of cases in which Arian has been involved include the following:
- Successfully assisting the beneficiaries of an estate with an application to remove the executor
- Assisting beneficiaries with defending a claim to overturn a Will on the grounds lack of testamentary capacity
- Advising executors and beneficiaries in relation to bringing and defending claims against estates under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
- Assisting in a mediation involving a challenge to a will on the basis of undue influence and fraudulent calumny
Arian also has many years’ experience with traditional wills and estates work and can advise and assist on matters such as drafting wills and lasting powers of attorney, capital tax planning and estate administration.
