The opportunity

As a Partner in our highly regarded family team located at our Shrewsbury office, you will play a leading role in advising high-net-worth individuals and families on complex matters, while contributing to the continued growth and direction of a well-established firm.

You will collaborate closely with your fellow partners, help develop the next generation of legal talent within the team and have the autonomy to manage your own portfolio of high-value work alongside the opportunity to strengthen existing client and referrer relationships and develop new ones.

This role offers exposure to a broad range of high-quality work, including complex financial matters and agricultural family work, making it particularly well suited to a lawyer looking to deepen their expertise while building a long-term platform.

It will suit an experienced and commercially minded lawyer who combines technical excellence with strong relationship skills and is looking to take a leading role within a collaborative and ambitious firm.

What you will be doing

You will advise on a wide range of complex family matters, including:

  • Divorce and separation
  • Financial settlements, often involving high-value and complex assets
  • Children matters, including relocation cases
  • Cohabitation disputes
  • Agricultural family matters

In addition, you will:

  • Manage your own portfolio of high-value clients and matters
  • Supervise, mentor and support junior members of the team
  • Play a key role in maintaining and developing client and referrer relationships
  • Contribute to business development and the continued growth of our Shrewsbury office

About you

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded family lawyer with strong technical expertise and leadership capability.

You will:

  • Have extensive experience in family law
  • Demonstrate a strong track record advising high-net-worth clients
  • Be confident handling complex matters across financial settlements, children issues and related work
  • Have experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
  • Be commercially aware, with a proactive approach to business development
  • Be confident building and maintaining long-term client and referrer relationships
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, empathy and sound judgement

This role would suit someone already operating at Partner level, or a Legal Director/Senior Associate ready to take the next step.

The team advises on a wide range of matters, with particular strength in financial disputes and issues concerning children. 

As part of a close-knit, high-performing team, you can expect to work collaboratively and take pride in delivering clear, practical advice on sensitive and often complex matters.
