The opportunity

As a Family Solicitor with at least 5 years PQE, you will advise clients on complex and often sensitive matters, including financial arrangements on relationship breakdown and disputes involving children. Much of the work involves high-value assets and requires a thoughtful, measured approach.

Based in Shrewsbury, you will work closely with partners and highly experienced colleagues, building strong client relationships and providing clear, practical advice at what are often critical points in clients’ lives.

This is a role for someone who wants to handle high-quality family work while building a long-term career in a firm that supports a more balanced and sustainable way of working.

You will have the autonomy to manage your own caseload, alongside the support and collaboration of a highly regarded team.

What you will be doing

You will advise on a broad range of family matters, including:

  • Divorce and separation
  • Financial settlements and property arrangements
  • Children matters and childcare issues
  • Adoption
  • Family mediation

You will also manage matters from instruction through to conclusion, providing clear, empathetic and commercially aware advice throughout.

In addition you'll have an aptitude for getting involved in the team / firm’s marketing and business development activities.

About you

We are looking for an experienced and confident solicitor who is comfortable handling a broad range of family matters.

You will:

  • Have at least 5 years’ PQE in family law
  • Have experience across divorce, financial matters, children issues and related work
  • Be confident managing complex matters from start to finish
  • Demonstrate excellent client care and communication skills
  • Be able to manage multiple cases effectively and work to deadlines
  • Have strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work

You will also be willing to contribute to business development and marketing activity where appropriate.

The team advises on a wide range of matters, with particular strength in financial disputes and issues concerning children.
