About the role

As a Co-ordinator in the Quality and Compliance Team you will need to:

  • Conduct Compliance file reviews on selected matters across all of our fee earning teams.
  • Assist with the annual returns for the firms various Quality and Compliance accreditations including Lexcel, CQS, WIQs, and Lender Exchange.
  • Liaise with and act as a point of contact for our PII Insurer/Broker dealing with PII claims and notifications.
  • Ensure that all complaints, data breaches and undertakings are recorded on our internal reporting system.
  • Work with other members of the team to learn and assist with the day-to-day Q&C operations such as file opening and archiving.
  • Work closely with the Compliance, Training & Support Manager/MLRO to deal with daily AML and Compliance queries from the business and to assist with occasional Data Subject Access Requests, Police Production Orders and Regulator Requests.
  • Prepare and assist with new starter Compliance inductions.
  • Liaise with the SRA and Law Society and ensure that all regulatory records are maintained accurately.
  • Complete daily compliance tasks such as management of the various inboxes, filing and dealing with queries.

You will need to have previous experience of working in a busy Compliance department (preferably within a Law Firm), with excellent AML and Regulatory Compliance knowledge and preferably a compliance or risk qualification.

You will be a confident person with excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as a member of a team but also independently where required with minimal supervision.

Organisational skills are essential for this role. You will have the ability to manage and prioritise your work; with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to act promptly on instructions received.

An ability to communicate and build/maintain relationships with team members, fee earners and external stakeholders is essential.

Hours of work & Benefits

This is a full-time position based at our Chester office. Working hours are 09:00 to 17:30.
