Update: Increase of rates from 6 April 2014

The Welfare Benefits Up-rating Act 2013 provides for the annual increase to rates of certain benefits and is effective through the Welfare Benefits Up-rating Order 2014, which has recently been published.

The Order outlines the new rates for tax year 2014-2015, which have been increased by 1% on the current year and will come into effect on 6 April 2014.

The weekly rate for statutory sick pay will increase from £86.70 to £87.55.

The weekly rate for statutory maternity pay, ordinary and additional paternity pay and adoption pay will increase from £136.78 to £138.18.
